HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR THE REGISTRATION?

Registration starts really soon and, as some of you may know from previous editions, you have to be very quick in order to catch the discounted promo price. Here are some tips how to prepare for the registration.

Step 1. Decide which package is right for you and which add-ons you choose. Accommodation and meals are only added to SUPREME XL, LEVEL UP XL and STREET XL packages.

Step 2. If you chose Level-Up, Class 25 or Class 20 package  – prepare your photo (portrait) in JPG format, not bigger than 5 MB. There should be no other people at the photo. And no sunglasses and face-covering hats please. Thanks!

Step 3. If you are less than 18 years old, the registration form should be submited by your parent or legal guardian (we will ask obout his/her first and last name and ID document number).

Step 4Gather your personal data (name, address, contact e-mail, sex etc.)

Step 5Read the documents in MULTIMEDIA > DOWNLOADS section of this website.

Step 6. If you want to be accommodated with a specific person you should give us his/her name during the registration process.

Step 7. If you are less than 18 years old, but you will not be under our care (which means that you will have your own guardian among participants) you need to specify this during the registration process (and later send us a proper care release form). We will ask you  about the name and ID document number of the guardian.

Step 8. Although the registration form should work on different devices, it’s the most convinient to fill it in on your desktop computer. Avoid filling a few forms in different browser tabs at the same time.

Everything prepared? Ok! So you’re ready to go. Follow our Facebook page – we’ll let you know about the registration opening there.

AWF’s Summer Hostel, located in Kraków at Aleja Jana Pawła II 82, provides economic version of accommodation.

We’ll have 3 dorms at our disposal. The first one, HOSTEL #1 was not renovated, so its price it lower. HOSTELS #2 and #3 were renovated in last years. The hostel is situated in the same location where the workshops and other attractions will take place, which is a huge convenience for the participants.

The accommodation in available in a fixed packs which include 10 NIGHTS: checking in on 4 August from 12:00 a.m, checking out on 14 August 2019 at 10:00 a.m..

Rooms are equipped with bedding and towels (but note that there’s only 1 towel per person and they are changed not more often than every few days). There are no refrigerators, hair dryers, and irons, but one of the dorms has self-service laundry (extra fee). Rooms are cleaned at least once during the camp.

ATTENTION: Camp participants have to check in at the hostel reception on the day they arrive and check out on the day they leave (please, show up there, even if your roommate has already left there your room key).

IF I WANT TO STAY AT THE CAMPUS FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS, CAN I BOOK ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD?

Unfortunatelly, NO.

The number of economic accommodation packs at the campus is strictly limited.

Kraków is a big, touristic city though – you will find a lot of attractive accommodation options there (especially if you book in advance). We recommend international booking platfoms: www.booking.com or www.airbnb.com.

CAN MY FRIENDS COME WITH ME AND BE ACCOMMODATED AT THE CAMPUS?

The campus places are only for the participants.

For your not-dancing friends and family we recommend finding a place through international booking platfoms: www.booking.com or www.airbnb.com.

WHO I AM GONNA BE ACCOMMODATED WITH?

If you know who you want to share the room with, please don’t forget to put the appropriate information in the registration form.

If you won’t do this, you will be automatically paired with other camp participant of the same sex (and, if possible, similar age). Note that it will be impossible to change it during the check-in day. Any changes have to be consulted with a Camp Supervisor and then reported at the reception.

If you are an underage participant (less than 18 y.o. at 4th of August) and you want to be accommodated with a person of the opposite sex or with an adult you have to provide us CARE RESIGNATION FORM or PARENT’S CONSENT before 10. July 2019. You will find both forms in INFO > DOWNLOAD section.

KRAKOW

Kraków is a classy city. Its pulsing rhythm and artistic energy make it the perfect meeting ground for hundreds of dancers during the summer edition of Fair Play Dance Camp. The city is among the most popular tourist destinations in Poland. Its awe-inspiring charm, unique atmosphere and more than 6,000 historical monuments are the reason for that. Put into words, Kraków is beautiful, atmospheric and absolutely exceptional. That is why we keep going back and will be there for the sixth time.

Kraków is also pragmatic. Having well-planned transportation routes, surrounded by a network of railway and easily accessible from abroad thanks to the modern Kraków Airport located in Kraków-Balice.

PLACES WORTH SEEING:

  • Original parts of the medieval city walls. St. Florian’s gate which is the one and only remaining of the seven medieval gates in and out of Cracow. The Barbican – It was the first line of defense that lay just outside the city walls. It actually is shaped like a deep pot and this is where it gets its Polish name. To be stationed at this outpost was only for the brave. Legend says that the remaining part of the wall was kept intact to protect the women of Cracow from the strong and unpredictable north wind that could blow up women’s dresses and skirts.
  • The Market Square – The largest medieval market square in world. Nothing can compare to its vast expanse of space and history.
  • St. Mary’s Church – The famous burglar’s parish and the most characteristic church in Poland. St. Mary’s has the greatest medieval Alter in all of Europe This master piece was by Veit Stoss from the XV c. The Alter took 12 years to create and the price paid was equivalent to the entire city’s budget for a whole year. In retrospect, 600 years latter, it was more than worth the price, as art historians believe it to be priceless. From a top the church tower a trumpeter plays every hour his unfinished melody to all four cardinal directions. In fact the trumpeters have not missed an hour for over 175 years now. In the summer you visit the famous trumpeter of Cracow and ask him any question, that is if you are willing to climb all 239 steps.
  • Cloth hall – Shop in the oldest continually running shopping mall. Here you can find lots of tempting colorful booths with souvenirs sometimes at surprising low old world prices. Upstairs was the first Polish art museum. You can find here lots of tempting colorful booths with souvenirs.
  • Franciscans Monastery – Cracow actually has several active monasteries. The Franciscan one dates back to the XIII c. The church was a witness to many important historical events and perhaps more importantly centuries of untold stories of everyday people. The monastery’s interiors are decorated with beautiful stained glass and paintings from the Polish artistic genius Wyspiański. Cloisters hide rare wall paintings from the XV c. Many of these paintings are undiscovered works.
  • Bishop’s Palace with “Pope’s Window”, Planty – park surrounds the old town district like a ring. You can chill out here in the shadows of trees or… watch the walking people and absorb the town’s atmosphere, Grodzka Street is one of the oldest and main street of Cracow. On Grodzka Street can find a quaint with the unique leather handmade accessories, such things as bags, shoes, belts, hats etc. or shop with artistic jewelery , St. Peter and Paul Church – considered as the first baroque church in Poland. If you are interested in archeology you can visit the Archaeological Museum.
  • St.Andrew’s Church – Romanesque temple from the XI c., whose mighty walls allowed Cracovians to defend themselves against the Mongols attack in the XIII c. Next to the church, behind the monastery gate, Clariscians Sisters protect unique Nativity play’s figurines from the XIV c.
  • Kanonicza Street – The oldest and charming streets of Cracow. Newly in the Palace of Bishop Ciolek, you can visit the exhibition “The Art of Poland. XII – XVIII c.” It’s one of the most distinguished collections of art in Poland.
